Aluminium Coating

Aluminium profiles that are mill finished are perfectly satisfactory for numerous levels of application without any further need for surface treatment, especially due to their strong resistance to corrosion.

However, our clients have numerous applications for aluminium profiles and so we provide surface treatments to match those requirements. Two of these types of surface treatments are anodising and powder coating.

Anodising

The process of anodising enables the surface of aluminium profiles to have any of the following properties:

  • Smooth surface
  • Functional surface (for example, an abrasion-proof surface)
  • Dirt-repellant surface (important for applications where hygiene is important)
  • Adaptable surface that can be painted or easily glued onto
  • Electrical insulation properties
  • Further corrosion resistance

Because aluminium is so flexible, the process of anodising can create profiles that have a diverse range of uses, which is why aluminium profiles are used so much for internal and external construction.

Powder Coating

Aluminium profiles can be coloured to any requirement and we use RAL and customer-specific dyes. We use the process of powder coating (rather than wet coating) because there is minimal risk of paint running, profiles can be adapted (i.e. formed into shapes) after coating, and powder coated aluminium has a much higher resistance to abrasion and corrosion than wet coated aluminium.

When combining coloured surface treatments with anodising, aluminium profiles can be created that are used in an unlimited range of applications so please do contact us to discuss your aluminium application and we'll be able to advise on the surface treatment that best suits your design need.
